Description of Work
Murdoch is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse located in the Alpine. Alpine Cottage serves an adult population. Typically, people served in this area are non-ambulatory, non-mobile with severe/profound intellectual/developmental disabilities requiring 24-hour-a-day licensed nursing care. Emphasis throughout the day is placed on gross motor activities, basic self-help skills, increased communication skills, and health care needs. Medical concerns include seizure disorders, gastrointestinal problems, neurogenic bladders, and chronic respiratory issues.ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

About Murdoch Developmental Center: MDC is one of three regional developmental centers operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). MDC in Butner serves 25 counties in central NC. Murdoch has approximately 1600 employees providing residential services and supports to people with IDD, complex behavioral challenges and/or medical conditions whose clinical treatment needs exceed the level of care available in the community. In addition to regional admissions for adults, MDC operates four statewide programs, which include support for children and adolescents with complex needs.
