Position Summary
The PRN Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care at Poplar Springs Hospital, an acute and residential behavioral health facility located in Petersburg, Virginia. The nurse will be responsible for ensuring quality care for assigned patients/residents, supervising staff, and performing clinical duties as required. Hours vary and flexibility is required. Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for assigned patients/residents using the nursing process and established standards of care. Supervise and mentor assisting personnel in delegated direct and indirect nursing care activities. Maintain unit as directed and complete unit maintenance tasks. Demonstrate behaviors that reflect Poplar Springs Hospital’s mission and core values. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. CPR certification preferred (offered on‑site). Handle With Care certification preferred (offered on‑site). Education/Experience
Education, experience, or training in working with patient populations of the unit of assignment required either prior to employment or during an initial employment period. General Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services. Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm. Good communication skills in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Basic clerical skills and experience with office equipment (telephone, copier, fax, etc.). Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to problem‑solve and accept feedback. Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning. EEO Statement
