Our full-time Mortgage Loan Closer's primary function to assist the Mortgage Loan Officers with preparing and scheduling mortgage loan closings. This position performs a variety of duties that are clerical, technical and confidential in nature. The major responsibility is the preparation of loan closing disclosures and final loan documents for mortgage loans that are then ultimately packaged to be sold on the secondary mortgage market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Once loan has been approved by underwriting, closing date is forecasted and preliminary “Closing Disclosure” is prepared for the closing. Reviews any underwriting conditions and obtains necessary documentation to satisfy any requirements.

Contacts borrower, real estate agent and title insurance company to request the documents needed to close the specific mortgage loan product.

Does quality control of file and verifies accuracy and consistency of documents received. Coordinates a specified closing date, time and location with all parties.

Answer questions regarding closing numbers for borrower, lender and other parties involved in the transaction.

Assembles document package to be delivered to title insurance company, real estate agent and / or lending officer.

Retrieves executed documents from the closing, reviews for accuracy and sets up ticklers for missing items, forwards completed loan file documents to boarding department.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists all customer, associate and realtor inquires.

Performs scanning functions and prepares various reports.

Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.

Remain informed of changes in Bank Policies, Products and Procedures.

Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Minimum two years specialized training or experience in mortgage loans and familiarity with computer input required.

Knowledge of lending regulations and secondary mortgage market guidelines required.

Position requires accuracy and ability to coordinate and prioritize workday efficiently.

Individual must be a self-starter, conscientious, comfortable with detail, able to exhibit professionalism in communication skills to deal with customers under circumstances requiring tact, diplomacy and confidentiality, possesses excellent keyboarding skills and must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines.

Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to work in a team environment to achieve personal and departmental loan processing goals.

Adherence to schedule in a structured work environment required.
