Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure of the hotel in good repair, including Guest Rooms, Meeting Space, Restaurant and all other areas of the hotel.
Job Duties
Ensure observance of safety precautions.
Perform inspection and report discrepancies.
Maintain pressure boilers, electrical equipment, lifting and power distribution.
Perform minor fans and air‑conditioning repairs.
Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs to equipment throughout the hotel.
Perform rough carpentry work, drywall and painting repairs.
Perform routine plumbing repairs, including installation of toilet, sinks, and other hardware & fixtures, and laundry/kitchen equipment.
Update engineering log during assigned shift.
Assist Chief Engineer in administration of an on‑going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms.
Assist in administration of special franchise maintenance programs; review maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments.
Coordinate with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Perform preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis as per brand specific standards.
Complete maintenance logs and follow the tracking system.
Maintain the building exterior when not serviced by a contractor (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting).
Additional duties may be added at any time at the discretion of management.

Skills / Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred; technical school training in maintenance and related field preferred.
Previous hotel experience preferred; however, ability gained through 2+ years related employment (customer service) or on‑the‑job training may substitute for actual front desk experience.
Physical Demands
Requires ability to stand/walk the entire shift.
Requires ability to perform light to medium physical labor, including lifting, bending, reach, stretching, climbing (ladders), pushing, and pulling.
Requires ability to communicate orally and in writing with maintenance/hotel staff/guests.
Requires ability to lift 50+ lbs. frequently.
Walking and standing: 95%.
Must be able to carry 50 lbs. up to 25 feet.
Lifting, push/pull: 90% (ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly; lift 50 lbs. to the waist, chest, and above the head). Ability to push housekeeping or laundry cart regularly.
Bending, stooping, reaching: 90% throughout the shift (must be able to bend at the knees with up to 50 lbs., stand to an upright position).
Driving: 25% shuttle service.
Travel: none.
Environmental Conditions
Inside: Protection from weather conditions (50%), but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Outside: Labor required up to 50%.

Ability to read and understand and communicate chemical labels, safety data sheets, instructions.
