Responsibilities
Howmet Aerospace is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. This position is responsible for providing leadership in manufacturing excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of responsible area performance measures (quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow). The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of team leaders and workers engaged in production, establishes and coordinates departmental activities to meet objectives that coincide with plant goals and business metrics.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
Follow all Howmet safety regulations, work rules and departmental requirements.
Record data manually or by computer as required; examine castings and products at various stages for conformance to internal and external specifications.
Observe machines, order adjustments or repairs, and direct workers to make adjustments or repairs; study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements.
Conduct employee training, practice incident prevention techniques, and facilitate between Managers, EHS resources, employees, and conduct self-inspections with verification of compliance.
Explain specifications and job orders to workers, assign duties, establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality; suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems; initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintain time and production records.
Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials; coordinate activities of individual departments.
Establish project plans and coordinate activities for continuous improvement initiatives; recommend employee status (hiring, terminations, promotions).
Resolve grievances and employee relations issues; complete performance evaluations on employees; administer employee corrective action.
Train and mentor team leaders for individual development; comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines.
Maintain measurement/metrics for departmental performance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
High School diploma/G.E.D.
One year of manufacturing leadership experience.
Documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility in the U.S.
Access to export-controlled items, conditioned upon lawful access.
Experience
Three years manufacturing experience in a leadership role (preferred).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management (preferred).
