Huntsman is seeking a Sourcing Category Lead - Americas Indirect supporting the Procurement Division located in The Woodlands, TX. This position will report to the Indirect Procurement Manager. Hybrid work environment
4 days in the office / 1 day from home. Job Scope
The Sourcing Category Lead - Americas Indirect will implement and manage category strategies for indirect procurement in Spanish‑speaking LATAM and lead assigned indirect categories across the Americas. The role ensures optimized value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, compliance, and strong stakeholder engagement while supporting Huntsman’s procurement policies and business objectives. In summary, as the Sourcing Category Lead – Americas Indirect, you will:
Support and implement Indirect Category Strategies in LATAM and the Americas using Huntsman’s 7‑step Strategic Sourcing Methodology. Collect and analyze business requirements, cost drivers, supplier capabilities, and market trends to develop category sourcing strategies. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across the Americas to ensure alignment and continuous improvement. Negotiate supply agreements and contracts in compliance with internal procedures and required service, quality, and financial terms. Manage contracts, ensuring correct creation, approval, storage, and maintenance. Lead Supplier Relationship Management initiatives under the guidance of the Indirect Procurement Manager. Ensure compliance with Huntsman’s policies, procedures, regulations, and approved supplier requirements. Participate in continuous personal development and training activities. Support integration and collaborative savings related to Huntsman merger & acquisition activities. Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of related industry experience. Fluency in Spanish and English (REQUIRED). Experience negotiating U.S. and LATAM contracts. Skills and knowledge
Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage contracts effectively. Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders across regions. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial indicators such as TCO, EBITDA, ROI, payment terms, and cost‑saving measures. High professionalism and enthusiasm when representing Huntsman externally. Ability to travel up to 20%, including international travel. Proven ability to work effectively within teams. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. Professional certifications such as C.P.M., CPSM, CPSD, CPCM, or CCCM. Experience with Indirect Categories (Travel, MRO, CAPEX, Facility Services, etc.) in petrochemical or heavy industrial environments. Understanding of TCO initiatives such as VMI, consignment, buy‑back programs, supply base rationalization, sustainability initiatives, and others. Advanced knowledge of SAP, Ariba, and analytical tools such as Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, graphs) and PowerBI. Working knowledge of Portuguese. Equal Opportunity
