What the Role Looks Like In this supply‑chain position, you will support Lockheed Martin’s Orion program—NASA’s first spacecraft designed for long‑duration, human‑rated deep‑space exploration.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary subcontract interface and support the Subcontract Management Team to meet program objectives.

Serve as the focal point between subcontractors/suppliers and Lockheed Martin departments.

Initiate the acquisition process—solicit RFPs, review proposals, negotiate and administer contracts, and manage supplier performance.

Develop subcontract specifications, Statements of Work, and negotiate requirements and scope.

Prevent and mitigate supplier cost, schedule, and quality performance issues.

Research and evaluate procurement sources and qualifications.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.

5+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in Supply Chain Management (procurement, subcontract administration, negotiation, etc.).

3+ years working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and experience in government, commercial, and defense procurement.

Demonstrated experience handling complex subcontract contracts, team building, leadership, and negotiation.

Strong relationships with organizational stakeholders, supplier partners, and IPT counterparts.

Experience developing and executing business/subcontract strategies.

Desired Skills

Experience with contract types such as FFP, Cost‑Plus, T&M, and IDIQ Master Agreements.

Supporting new business proposal activities.

Advanced critical thinking, problem‑solving, and strategic communication skills.

Knowledge of space systems supply chain and technologies for next‑generation payloads is a plus.

Other Important Information

Teleworking is not supported; candidates must be located near our Denver, CO or Huntsville, AL facilities.
