Overview
Reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Responsible for the development, verification and improvement of CNC Machining programs. Setup and operate the CNC machining and turning centers on an as‑need basis. Job also requires the development of detailed instructions and documentation for machining operations. Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately interpret engineering drawings and determine optimal machining methods to meet required part tolerances, fits, and finishes. Development of G‑Code CNC programs for CNC mills and lathes by utilizing CAM software such as Surfcam. Define machining configurations to achieve design, including equipment selection, cutting tool selection, and CNC programming for CNC Operations. Program mills and lathes by entering data (including zero and reference points), setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements, and proving part programs. Make minor & major adjustments to machinery to ensure it operates accurately, safely and efficiently, while production stays within established quality parameters. Create 3D models using Solidworks as needed for use in programming. Develop accurate and efficient fixtures for part production on an as‑need basis. Create machine tool setup sheets with detailed operator instructions and visual aids. Assist operators with initial run machine tool set‑up, troubleshooting, and improving programs to maintain productivity. Machining experience with mills and lathes with live tooling. Must be competent in shop math, including algebra and trigonometry. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. 10+ years CNC machining related experience. 5+ years CNC/CAM programming or related experience. Benefits
