Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing services and patient care in a variety of settings. This position follows the established nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. It ensures adherence to hospital or department policies, nursing procedures, standards, and practices. The role manages individualized, goal‑directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/significant other to address all identified needs.
Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as required for patient care.
Evaluates identified problems, care provided, and patient responses, and reassesses to meet patient and family needs, ensuring overall quality of care delivered.
Maintains up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for use by the healthcare team and to ensure quality care.
Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the emergency unit/critical care division as defined in the scope of service, assuring that the unique nature of the client is addressed, including, but not limited to, the client's age.
Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure.
May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications Minimum Education
Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required or
Associate’s Degree Nursing Required or
Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state (Upon Hire Required)
BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association (Upon Hire Required)
ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association (Upon Hire Required)
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) (Upon Hire Required)
PALS Provider (PALS) American Heart Association within 90 Days (Required)
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills
