Laboratory Technician I
The Laboratory Technician will conduct physical and chemical tests using company internal test procedures or reference methods (ASTM, API, etc) as required.
Safety First
Views safety as a core value and participates in safety meetings as required
Assures adherence to safety procedures and work instructions in accordance with company protocol
Quality Always
Assists in proper investigation and root cause analysis for incidents/accidents occurring in the laboratory.
Position Responsibilities
Performance testing of existing and new products through use of lab testing equipment.
Prepare lab standard solutions
Maintain written and electronically stored laboratory records
Ensure samples for shipment to customers and internally are appropriately labeled, tested and recorded.
Working with other Quality professionals, assist production records are accurate and completed quickly for maximum production operations.
Communication/Other Duties
Effectively communicates with associates; excellent English language skills, both oral and written
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
Able to lift testing equipment and stock solution containers common in the drilling fluids lab
Education and Additional Requirements
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science training is preferred
Quality laboratory experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
