Job Description: Supplier Quality Manager – NA Flavors – Erlanger, KY

Job Summary This individual will be responsible for maintaining corporate Supplier quality and raw materials/ingredients approvals in NA within the Flavors BU. Accountable for overseeing the strategic execution of supplier Quality management for the Business Units. This role is responsible for Supplier Quality standards (Quality Management System) and guide the evolution of those standards within the Flavors NA BU. Oversee the execution of supplier Quality across the BUs and provide strategic direction on issues/concerns. Support the oversight and execution of supplier Quality standards within Flavors NA BU / Sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supplier Quality management, including onboarding and ongoing performance

Accountable for review, approvals, and incoming raw materials and ingredients within the BU

Partnership with procurement, supply chain, logistics, and other supporting E2E to support supplier Quality management (e.g., Audit COE, Global QC COE)

Works with the Quality Tech Center to establish and maintain category and ingredient risk assessments and integration into operations, Food Safety Plans

Oversees the development and maintenance of BU-specific Quality Standards

Maintain and monitor supplier Quality KPIs

Oversee the maintenance of the approved supplier list and communication to stakeholders

Support Supplier Quality Specialists in establishing and maintaining specifications for incoming raw materials and share with suppliers

Oversight of the supplier audit program

Support operations with supplier complaint handling

Monitor & trend supplier quality incidents

Continuous improvement of the supplier quality assurance program

Oversee Emergency Approvals

Oversee and assist where necessary for FSVP compliance

Evaluate and manage global supplier Quality risk

Set and review performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Oversee the execution of supplier Quality across the BUs and provide strategic direction on issues/concerns

Collaborate with BU / QFS Location Managers to ensure effective execution of supplier Quality requirements and serve as a feedback loop to the CoE

Direct leader and manager of raw material specialists and other reporting colleagues

Provides strategic vision for supplier Quality management

Oversees development and maintenance Global Supplier Quality Standard

Reviews outcomes of the BU BU-related CARS process and reviews

Owns the methodology and sets expectations for the supplier scorecard

Provides supplier quality process performance for management review

Maintain and monitor supplier Quality KPIs

Provide Quality oversight for supplier management processes to ensure execution of the BU Supplier Quality Standards

Partner with Regulatory, Customer Quality, and BU Quality Leaders to establish and maintain specifications for incoming raw materials and share with suppliers

Lead the development and maintain Raw Material Purchasing Specifications

Manage Supplier qualification & approval for assigned BU/product lines

Ensure, where applicable, Foreign Supplier Verification Program Requirements

Oversight of overall Quality SCARs and conduct follow-ups with escalated suppliers to address issues

Collaborate with Procurement by providing Quality-related Supplier data & metrics for scorecards

Collect necessary data from Procurement on suppliers to share with BU/Local Quality Leadership

Maintain BU-level supplier documents and supplier data for assigned areas

Requirements

Food (human or animal) safety auditing experience in an industrial setting

Bachelor’s degree preferred – preferably in Biological Sciences, Food Science, or related field.

3-5 years’ experience in managing food safety in a food processing environment.

Familiarity with HACCP/ HARPC and product food safety control programs

Experience in GFSI schemes, organic, kosher, FSMA Food Safety Plan, and FSVP

Experience/knowledge in Microbiology, Food Safety, troubleshooting, and process improvement skills

Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Good knowledge of statistics and statistical process control (SPC)(Six Sigma Green Belt experience preferred)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Organized and detail-oriented.

Comfortable working in a distance team environment.

Effective communication skills with the ability to deliver positive feedback as well as corrective strategies in a proactive and respectful manner

High ethical standards and ability to travel independently

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $71,800.00 – $134,500.00. Salaried Incentive Plan; the total compensation package for this position will also include an annual bonus.
