Clinical Assistant Professor – Economics
UTRGV seeks one non‑tenure‑track position in Economics at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The appointment is 3 years with possibility of renewal. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics (or a closely related field) by the beginning of Fall 2026 and demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and research potential. The role is primarily instructional, with 10% of the workload dedicated to research; modest publication is expected and encouraged. Scope of Job
• Instruction in undergraduate and graduate Economics courses in a culturally diverse, bilingual and bicultural setting. • 10% research workload; support faculty research agenda consistent with AACSB requirements. • Support faculty service to the university and community. Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field prior to Fall 2026. Evidence of teaching effectiveness. Evidence of research potential. Earned at least 18 graduate credit hours in Economics. Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching Economics to a diverse student body. Ability to use technology to support teaching and learning. Active basic, applied, or pedagogical research agenda consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic faculty qualification. Required Fields
