Title: Quality Assurance Technician

About the Position The FSQA Technician is responsible for assuring adherence to the Plant’s Quality Assurance programs. They will be a key member of the team and engaged in establishing, implementing, documenting, and monitoring Food Safety and Quality programs at the Verde Farm’s facility. In addition, this person will assist in the development of programs that will address any opportunities and implement program upgrades. This is a hands‑on position. This position reports to the Manager of FSQA.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with
HACCP ,
SSOPs ,
GMPs , and food safety programs
Perform routine
quality and food safety checks
on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
Conduct
pre‑operational and operational sanitation inspections
Verify and document
critical control points (CCPs)
and preventive controls
Collect samples for
microbiological, chemical, and physical testing
Complete and maintain accurate
QA records, logs, and reports
Identify non‑conformances and assist with
corrective and preventive actions
Ensure proper
product labeling, packaging, and traceability
Support
USDA inspections , customer audits, and third‑party audits
Assist with
product holds, releases, and investigations
Train and reinforce food safety and quality practices with production employees
Report food safety or quality concerns immediately to management
Additional support and perform other duties as requested by management, within the scope and abilities
Summary of Experience and Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to multitask and communicate with personnel of all levels and cultural backgrounds.
High school diploma or GED preferred
Meat processing plant & high packaging line experience
OEE software experience preferred
Strong work ethic, communication skills in English, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely across departments
Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow safety rules, SOPs, and GMP guidelines set in place
Superior standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety
Possess a team‑oriented approach to tasks
Ability to work in a cold environment (27*F- 45*F)
Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedures set forth by Verde Farms
Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test
Bilingual in Spanish (is a plus, not a requirement)
Highly collaborative, perceptive, and operate with integrity
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to
40–50 lbs
Comfortable working in refrigerated areas and production floor environments
Skills & Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional judgment when addressing quality or food safety concerns
