ER Admissions Supervisor
Full-time position at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Position Summary ER supervisor is responsible for supervising the ER Patient Access Clerks and managing the registration workflow through ER Registration. The supervisor assists with registration duties as needed, answers questions, and serves as a resource in the ER Registration area. They maintain a welcoming environment for patients by monitoring staff adherence to the ER registration process, checking account creations, ensuring data quality, and complying with organization registration requirements. The role calls for strong customer service skills, departmental leadership, and collaboration with the Patient Access Supervisor and Director to solve problems and communicate changes. The supervisor manages ongoing departmental education, orientation and training of new hires, monitors productivity, prepares departmental reports, and fulfills additional responsibilities assigned by the Director.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that ER registration clerks follow the ER Collections Policy.
Complete the daily Meditech worklist as assigned by the supervisor.
Confirm that all Medicare inpatient patients have a completed Medicare Message Letter on the chart when the ED visit is converted to inpatient.
Schedule ER registration staff to ensure each shift is covered.
Be on call as required.
Education and Qualifications
Professional appearance, good communication skills, friendly personality, and positive attitude.
Able to follow oral and written instructions and remain pleasant under pressure.
High School Diploma required.
Candidate must disclose any criminal convictions, including misdemeanors and/or DUI/DWI. (Criminal convictions do not automatically exclude consideration.)
