Job Title: Sr Performance Tester with LoadRunner and NeoLoad

Location: Reston, VA

Type: Contract

Compensation: $78/HR

Contractor Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 times a month)

The Senior Performance Tester designs, develops, and executes automated performance tests to ensure system scalability, reliability, and efficiency. This role relies heavily on deep expertise with LoadRunner and NeoLoad to build robust test scripts, analyze system behavior under load, and diagnose performance bottlenecks. The position works closely with development and systems teams to identify and resolve performance issues across the application lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain performance test plans and automated scripts using LoadRunner and NeoLoad.
• Execute load, stress, and endurance tests; analyze results; generate metrics; and recommend improvements.
• Identify, document, and report performance defects and provide clear status updates.
• Review business and technical requirements for performance testability.
• Collaborate with QA, development, and system teams to ensure full coverage for releases.
• Participate in architecture reviews, capacity assessments, and project meetings.
• Benchmark system performance and validate system behavior under expected and peak loads.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 5-8 years of hands‑on LoadRunner/Performance Center and NeoLoad experience
• Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog)
• Experience with SQL/PL‑SQL and multiple database platforms (DB2, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of system, network, virtualization, and database concepts
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, QA processes, and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
