Part Time Busser/Backwaiter, Hours 11 AM - 4 PM, Location - Tapestry Bistro & Bar, 101 Henry Adams Street, San Francisco, CA- 94103Position SummaryThe Busser/Backwaiter plays a key supporting role in delivering the elevated guest experience that defines our bistro and bar. This hybrid position combines the efficiency of a skilled busser with the attentiveness of a professional backwaiter. The ideal candidate ensures seamless service by anticipating needs, maintaining table readiness, and assisting servers and bartenders with precision and polish.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest ExperienceDeliver attentive, discreet, and proactive service in alignment with the restaurant’s upscale standards.Support servers in presenting and delivering dishes, clearing courses, and maintaining proper pacing.Refill water, refresh beverages, and ensure guests have all necessary table settings and accompaniments.Maintain awareness of guest cues and communicate promptly with the service team to address any needs.Table & Floor MaintenanceClear and reset tables efficiently between courses and seatings while upholding visual and sanitation standards.Polish and stock glassware, silverware, and china to presentation quality.Maintain clean and organized service stations, dining floor, and bar support areas throughout service.Assist with floor setup and breakdown, including linens, silver setups, and décor alignment.Team CoordinationPartner closely with servers, bartenders, food runners, and hosts to ensure smooth transitions and consistent guest flow.Run food and beverages from kitchen and bar to tables with accuracy and care.Monitor bar-top and lounge areas to ensure prompt clearing and resetting.Restock side stations and service zones with necessary items throughout shifts.Operations & ComplianceFollow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures in accordance with company and health department standards.Maintain professionalism and composure in high-volume or high-profile service situations.Uphold the brand’s standards of hospitality, efficiency, and presentation at all times.Qualifications1+ year of experience in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant preferred.Strong teamwork, communication, and multitasking skills.High attention to detail, pace, and presentation.Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.Key Attributes for SuccessPolished, professional demeanor and communication style.Anticipatory service mindset, noticing needs before they are requested.Commitment to teamwork, consistency, and guest satisfaction.Passion for hospitality and pride in supporting a refined dining environment.
