About The Role As a Cost Accountant, you will perform cost analyses and prepare budget reports. You will also create detailed reports that present cost‑effective solutions for the company, supporting strategic decision‑making and ensuring financial accuracy.
How Will You Contribute
Perform detailed cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning.
Review new product costs for accuracy and completeness; prepare cost‑of‑goods budgets based on BOM and routing details.
Identify fixed versus variable costs and key profitability drivers; analyze product profitability and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
Compare planned costs to actuals, investigate variances, and advise management on key issues related to product costs.
Prepare and analyze cost reports to monitor expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
Maintain accurate general ledger records and reconcile accounts (Inventory, PPV, Labor, Overhead).
Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including journal entries and inventory reconciliations.
Support compliance with SOX controls and implement effective internal controls.
Collaborate with operations to evaluate capital expenditures and ROI.
Assist in financial report writing and provide clear summaries for stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Three to five (3–5) years of experience in cost accounting or corporate accounting.
Experience in a manufacturing environment required; nutraceutical industry experience highly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting concepts.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Process Pro, or similar).
Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements.
Experience in cost of goods analysis and product profitability.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to interpret complex data sets.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Work Environment
Communicates orally with management, employees, co‑workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the public by telephone or in person, in one‑on‑one or group settings.
Regularly uses a telephone and computer (e‑mail) for communication.
May involve exposure to allergens such as soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, milk, egg, tree nuts, and sesame.

Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000 per year. Employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), holidays, vacation, tuition reimbursement program.
