Data Center Technician at Amazon Data Services, Inc. – play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of the world’s most innovative cloud platform, ensuring seamless data center operations that power millions of businesses and services worldwide. Key Responsibilities

Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed. Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Conduct on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational issue analysis. Help train and onboard new team members. Physical Requirements

Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds. Work in cramped and/or elevated locations. Bend, lift, stretch, and reach. Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day. Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation. Work in a noisy environment. Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts). Travel & Locations

Willingness to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed (over 50 miles or less than 50 miles). The role may require travel to established locations for training until the designated site becomes fully operational. Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility. Basic Qualifications

High school or equivalent diploma. Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends. 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience. Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience working in a Data Center environment. Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering). Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting. Compensation & Benefits

Base pay ranges from $50,600/year in the lowest geographic market to $113,200/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and additional forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package. Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits is available. Notes
