Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Administrator to support TGS and our government customer in Carlsbad, NM. This position may require evenings and weekends as requested for server maintenance. The Sys Admin will need to complete CBFO training and briefings as directed.

The Systems Administrator will plan, coordinate, and execute with Network engineers, Service Desk and federal staff, and the IT Operations Manager to efficiently integrate tasks into regular IT operations, and to minimize disruption of IT services to customers. Candidate must be able to work independently under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager to plan, execute, document, and report on multiple projects and tasks.

Requirements

Requires an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science and/or a related field or 4 years of relevant IT experience with 2 of those years to including experience in administration of Microsoft Windows server systems in Active Directory including Wide-Area Network (WAN) experience with forest domains.

The substitution of education for relevant experience is in addition to the minimum two years of relevant experience required for this labor category and must be approved by the government on a case-by-case basis.

Candidate must possess 2 years of experience in performing IT related customer support including, but not limited to, help desk, NOC center, service, desk and/or remote support.

Experience in IT/help desk management systems such as Remedy, ZenDesk, and/or Web Help Desk to track, manage, and report on workload to management/supervisors.

Knowledge of DOE Order 205.1B Department of Energy Cyber Security Program and NIST 800-53 experience including implementation methods is highly desirable.

Candidate must possess 2 or more years of experience with the administration of the following:

Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS)

E-Mail archiving, migration, and data compression applications.

Server administration to include Hyper‑V, virtualization, and thin clients.

Two factor authentication including Smart Card configuration/administration is a must.

Public/Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption techniques including E-Mail encryption.

Wi‑Fi administration

Power Distribution Unit (PDU/UPS) administration

Requires 4 years of experience in the administration of Microsoft Exchange architecture including VOIP integration, unified communications, as well as records management applications.

Extensive experience with cyber security best practices including Operating System baselines, CIS/USGCB benchmarking utilities, system hardening, firewall configuration, security appliance administration, and other IT related cyber systems as required.

Knowledge and experience within Microsoft SCCM for third party patching and OS image deployment.

The ability to accomplish technical writing relative to Network/Application project plans, network diagrams, policy & procedure, and other types of technical documentation is highly desirable.

Prepare analyses and recommendations to support the procurement of IT server systems and supporting equipment. Collect, analyze and document market research information for procurement estimates.

Independently troubleshoot IT systems. Analyze system, application and security logs. Prepare and deliver written or oral reports with analyses and recommendations for upgrades and/or corrective actions.
