What You Will Do
Applying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs
Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production
Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
Lead and coordinate projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams
Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program
Identify and resolve constraints across the program
Participate in corrective action investigation
Provide technical input and peer review to engineering design changes
Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers
Managing the coordination and execution of program schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, Subcontracts, Engineering and other functional areas
Support Manufacturing Operations strategy, and utilize CORE best practices
Lead the effort to develop and implement cost reduction initiatives for both recurring efforts and new business opportunities
Coordinate Operations bids for new development and production proposals
Generate production plans, make/where plans, and write manufacturing sections of technical proposals
Qualifications You Must Have
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Experience interpreting and improving technical drawings
Experience with MRP systems
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Operations Management working in an Integrated Product Team/Cross Business Team (IPT / CBT) environment to ensure effective transition of programs from design to manufacturing
Experience communicating technical information to different audiences
Experience teaching, training and/or mentoring manufacturing systems to junior engineers
Lean Manufacturing and Management experience
Excellent verbal / written communications and interpersonal skills
Strong team building skills necessary to lead a multi-disciplined team
Experience with new product introductions and the design hand off to manufacturing process with focus on manufacturability
Experience in developing manufacturing strategies and cost proposals
Lean, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement experience
Knowledge of and experience with IPDS (Integrated Product Development System) processes
Understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) with proficiency in PRISM
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
Experience dealing with suppliers and sub-contracts
May need to travel

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD – 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
