Responsibilities

Accurately documenting and summarizing ophthalmic examinations in real time, including chief complaints, assessments, and treatment recommendations

Supporting patient understanding by reinforcing provider instructions and sharing educational materials when needed

Performing patient workups and specialized ophthalmic testing

Administering ophthalmic medications and assisting with eye care instructions

Preparing patients for in‑office procedures and assisting with lasers and treatments

Taking and documenting comprehensive medical histories

Sterilizing and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and equipment

Assisting patients with contact lens insertion and removal

Maintaining clear communication regarding appointment status and patient flow

Requirements What We’re Looking For

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced clinical setting

Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Commitment to patient confidentiality and compassionate care

Willingness to support teammates and help across all clinic areas

Basic knowledge of medical coding terminology

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G‑Suite tools

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant

COA or COT certification preferred

Commitment to maintaining required education, certification, and training

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive pay: $21–$23 per hour
