Job Summary This position acts as a service agent to provide basic financial counseling to patients admitted into Eastern State Hospital. It will assist the Business Office department in a busy hospital behavioral healthcare setting, providing basic financial counseling, managing paperwork, and scheduling referral appointments. The role requires a keen eye for detail, teamwork, understanding of medical terminology, and proficiency in Windows‑based technologies (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Required Education & Experience
Education: AA
Related Experience: 3 years in a similar environment
Preferred: High school or GED plus 2 years experience
Required Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Multitasking with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service
Strong time‑management, problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and organizational skills
High level of respect for confidentiality, diversity, and inclusion
Physical & Related Requirements The essential job functions require communication and relationship building with staff and candidates from diverse backgrounds, maintaining confidentiality, prioritizing and managing work effectively, providing exceptional customer service, and performing work in a sedentary position. The role requires interaction with individuals at various levels throughout the enterprise and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
