Job Overview: The Senior Plant Technician is a highly skilled individual contributor responsible for troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and rebuilding all equipment on-site. This role involves using common and specialized tools, welding, and cutting to maintain and repair plant machinery, ensuring site reliability and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, wearing appropriate PPE and following MSHA/OSHA regulations.
Maintain situational awareness to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Report safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Equipment Maintenance
Adhere to regular maintenance schedules and conduct preventive maintenance on critical systems.
Use welding and cutting expertise to fix or replace damaged structural components, such as chutes and wear metals.
Recommend or implement upgrades to enhance equipment performance.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
Inspect quarry equipment (crushers, screens, conveyor systems, wet processing machinery) to identify signs of mechanical failure.
Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques to assess root causes of mechanical issues and address them promptly.
Monitor operational efficiency and suggest adjustments to prevent downtime.
Skills You’ll Need
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in plant maintenance and repair operations within the aggregate industry.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid driver’s license.
Deep understanding of plant equipment, systems, and maintenance best practices.
Expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical failures.
Proficiency in welding, cutting, and using advanced tools for repairs.
Strong knowledge of equipment teardown and rebuild processes.
Ability to read and comprehend service manuals, hydraulic schematics, and parts manuals.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Proactive self‑motivation, accountability, and attention to detail.
