Inventory Control and Analysis Specialist 2 Department: University Hospital | Off Site Central Sterile Supply

Position Description The Central Sterile Supply (CSS) department is responsible for instrument processing and OR case carts, central sterile processing, decontamination, sterilization, case cart processing, physician preference card management, commodities management, instrument tracking management, and off‑site instrument processing management in the James. The CSS maintains a 24‑hour, seven‑days‑a‑week operation and coordinates case cart production, instrumentation preparation, sterilization, and maintenance with the Operating Room and obstetrical personnel for UH, James Operating Rooms, Labor and Delivery rooms, and The Ross Heart Hospital.

This position serves as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS off‑site location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise. The specialist will also procure, maintain, and standardize instrument trays across the Enterprise and will be utilized 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites across the Health System, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University Hospital East, and all ambulatory sites.

The inventory control specialist promotes customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments throughout the Medical Center. Responsibilities include ordering, procuring, and organizing all equipment and instruments required for surgeries and medical procedures on a global level to serve the entire Enterprise, and ensuring the necessary sterilized supplies are available for delivery to the point of use when needed.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

2 years of inventory management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Sterile Supply experience preferred

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is preferred
