Job Description The Wine Society Operations Associate plays a key role in the success of our Direct‑to‑Consumer (DTC) business – supporting wine club programs, eCommerce operations, and promotional campaigns across all three wineries. This role ensures seamless day‑to‑day operations by managing inventory, coordinating order fulfillment, and maintaining compliance with state and federal shipping regulations. You’ll also generate and analyze sales and operational reports, helping drive efficiency and inform business decisions. This position will be based at our Paso Robles, CA location. We work a hybrid schedule with an in‑office requirement Monday‑Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
Inventory & Fulfillment
Track and manage daily inventory, product releases, and internal transfers across multiple winery locations.
Coordinate wine club shipments, pickup weeks, and specialty kits.
Process backorders, SKU updates, and maintain accurate product data.
Sales Forecasting & Promotion
Forecast inventory needs for wine club shipments and DTC promotions (e.g., Black Friday, OND).
Analyze performance of seasonal offers and customer customization trends.
Support inventory planning in partnership with logistics and marketing teams.
Reporting & Analytics
Generate and distribute sales, inventory, and compliance reports.
Maintain tracking dashboards and performance metrics (e.g., open orders, credit card declines).
Provide data insights to improve DTC operations and customer experience.
Customer & Club Support
Assist with club batch building, customization setup, and order verification.
Support customer resolution efforts for declined payments or shipping exceptions.
Process & Compliance
Maintain and improve SOPs related to shipping, fulfillment, and packaging.
Partner with Compliance to ensure all licenses and regulations are current and accurate.
Qualifications
2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, inventory management, or DTC operations (wine or beverage industry a plus).
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data (forecasting, pivot tables, reporting).
Experience with DTC systems such as ShipCompliant, Commerce7, or Wine Pulse preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Collaborative communicator who enjoys working cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
Pay Rate : $21.00/hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
