Location Redmond
Compensation $32.25/hour-Exempt, (Plus $0.50/hour for Spanish Bilingual ability)
Hours Regular full-time (40 hours/week), subject to normal school furloughs
Benefits 100% premium paid Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Agency paid Retirement plan (up to 6%), almost 2 weeks of vacation time accrued in your first year, plus 14 paid Holidays annually, and a separate sick leave accrual
NeighborImpact Head Start Overview The Head Start and Early Head Start program strengthens families and closes the achievement gap for over 500 of Central Oregon’s most vulnerable and at‑risk children aged 0‑5 and pregnant mothers. Head Start/Early Head Start integrates high‑quality early education and family engagement with other critical services.
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities The Family Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating family engagement services within the Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) program to ensure adherence to Head Start/Early Head Start Program Performance Standards and all pertinent regulations. This role monitors the quality and compliance of family engagement services and provides feedback to the Family Engagement Manager and Site Coordinators regarding program performance and support needs. Reporting to the Family Engagement Manager, the Coordinator supervises the Head Start/Early Head Start Family Advocates, facilitates parent engagement initiatives, and encourages active participation, engagement, and leadership among both parents and staff. This position is in person/onsite.
Requirements Required
Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field required
Minimum two years of relevant experience in social services or a related field required
Minimum two years of supervisory experience required
Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor to attend to children’s needs. This position is rated as active and regularly requires the individual to lift 50 pounds required
Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required
Valid driver’s license
Access to reliable transportation
Proof of current auto insurance
Food Handler’s Card
Active enrollment in the Oregon Child Care Licensing Division Central Background Registry (CBR)
Above certifications must remain current to remain employed
Preferred
Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred
Head Start/Early Head Start parent preferred
