Shipping Clerk : Montgomery, Illinois
Our customer in Montgomery, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We're recruiting Shipping Clerks to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for coordinating daily shipments, preparing and verifying shipping documentation, and ensuring products are shipped accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk
Prepare and complete all required shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, packing lists, and labels. Coordinate and schedule daily outbound shipments with various carriers (LTL, truckload, UPS, FedEx, etc.). Verify that orders are packaged, labeled, and loaded according to company and customer specifications. Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure correct quantities, part numbers, and overall quality. Schedule carrier pickups and monitor delivery timelines to meet customer requirements. Safely operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move materials and load / unload trucks as needed. Maintain accurate shipping data within ERP or inventory systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar). Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve shipping or delivery issues. Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and material tracking. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Provide support to the receiving department when required. Shipping Clerk Requirements and Qualifications
Previous shipping / receiving or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment (metals experience preferred). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Basic computer knowledge and experience using ERP or shipping software. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Must wear steel-toed shoes or boots. Pay for Shipping Clerk : $21.00 per hour Shipping Clerk Benefits
Full benefits upon hire. Paid weekly. Direct deposit. Paid training. Type
1st Schedule : Monday Sunday, 6 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM, plus three Saturdays a month 6-hour shift.
