Technician, General Facilities Maintenance – Walmart – Joplin, MO
The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on all commercial equipment in Walmart stores.
This includes plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, and food equipment.
The technician will develop preventive maintenance schedules, complete assigned PMs on time, and provide training for store associates on equipment care and cleaning.
Base Pay Range $19.00/hr – $35.00/hr
What You’ll Do
Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
Manage work orders and maintenance schedules, providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).
Key Qualifications
Previous experience in maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, etc.).
Strong customer‑service mindset and clear, respectful communication.
Personal accountability with effective time‑management skills.
Ability to adapt to changing demands and use sound judgment to prioritize work.
Commitment to servant leadership and team collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of experience in maintenance.
Valid state‑issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Vocational or technical certification and 3–5 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, or material handling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
License in a related trade in the city or state where the job is located.
Proficiency in intermediate level word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
