Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Supports Operating Room by providing Radiology guidance for cases; knowledgeable of all aspects of OR to include Radiology protocols and equipment.

Provides on‑call support for Operating Room by participating in mandatory call rotation.

Troubleshoots equipment‑related issues as needed and reports any issues to appropriate leadership.

Inserts intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies.

Performs imaging for myelograms, therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium.

May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required; sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments needed for procedures.

Provides assistance with transportation of patients to and from the Emergency Room and In‑Patient areas.

Performs portable x‑ray imaging as ordered.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist, providing routine radiographic examinations according to specific operating instructions and safety standards.

Determines proper technical factors and adjusts radiographic equipment accordingly.

Assesses patient condition throughout procedure, observes for adverse reactions, and recognizes and responds to emergency situations per departmental procedures.

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures; immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or injuries or accidents to manager.

Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.

Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.

Prior experience in Operating Room procedures.
