Responsible for ensuring operating rooms are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. Follow hospital policies related to waste disposal, linen distribution, and communication with ancillary departments.
Responsibilities & Duties
Maintain cleanliness of operating rooms.
Clean and damp dust vents and high surface areas.
Use the Universal Protocol as directed.
Clean and disinfect floors, walls, and horizontal surfaces per schedule and infection control standards.
Collect soiled linen in closed bags and transport to laundry receptacle.
Assist with proper positioning of patients when directed.
Perform duties such as dusting, surface disinfection, mopping, sweeping, buffing.
Demonstrate knowledge of handling regular and biohazard trash and containers.
Turn over rooms timely, ensuring proper set‑up, including suction canisters.
Perform terminal cleaning.
Transport patients safely with concern for patient comfort and safety.
Handle specimens competently and in a timely manner, anticipating needs of the surgical team.
Perform unit‑specific procedures.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Efficient time usage.
Detail oriented and follow through with tasks.
Use floor scrubber and cleaning solutions as per training.
Work with various cleaning chemicals.
