The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) is one of the largest probation departments in the United States, supervising more than 70,000 individuals and employing over 600 staff members across 6 locations. We provide a wide range of services including community supervision, outpatient counseling, cognitive-behavioral programming, and residential treatment, designed to strengthen our clients’ abilities and support their long-term success. With a focus on utilizing evidence-based practices, we aim to improve outcomes and reduce recidivism for all clients under supervision. The Specialty Court Counselor I/II provides clinical services for Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. The Specialty Court Counselor will provide services to criminal justice involved individuals including completion of intake assessments, treatment planning, progress reports, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries. The Specialty Court Counselor will also complete concise and timely documentation of all clinically related duties and work with the Specialty Court interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure client needs are addressed. Duties and Responsibilities

Processes all payments, i.e., restitution, supervisory fee, etc., made through the Harris County Community Supervision & Corrections Department. Assists in the completion of all clerical tasks within his/her assigned Region/Program. Ensure that all payments are processed promptly and uniformly. Maintains an accurate, daily balance of all payments received. Assists CSOs with understanding/translating the Fee Screens when needed. Reconciles current day's totals at the end of the shift. Responds to all inquiries in an efficient, courteous manner. Assist with answering multi-line switchboard and greet clients in courteous manner. Performs other related duties as assigned. Contributes to and helps create a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a cooperative and amicable manner with supervisors, coworkers, subordinates and members of the public. High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution. Experience with 10-key adding machine. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Type 30 words per minute. Able to lift heavy files, up to 25-30 pounds. Thorough knowledge of current office practices and procedures. Good working knowledge of current computer functions and procedures. Willingness to work flexible hours. Licensure

Must have a valid Texas Class C Automobile Operator’s License and must be insurable under the Department’s automobile insurance program. NOTE
