Job Title: Radiologic Technologist/ CT Technologist
Reports To: Imaging Director / Imaging Manager / Imaging Supervisor
Location: Northwest or North-Central Arkansas depending on the position; employees may be asked to move locations from time to time based on clinic and patient needs.
FLSA: Non-Exempt / Hourly
Job Summary Operates X-ray / CT equipment to obtain clinical diagnostic images as directed by an ordering physician.
Specific XRAY duties
Reviews and evaluates X-ray to determine whether images are satisfactory or not for diagnostic purposes.
Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to configure exposure distance and time, according to the specified examination.
Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
Effectively communicates with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and radiologists.
Understands X-ray Principles.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Specific CT duties
Performs diagnostic CT procedures to include injection of iodinated IV contrast, the administration of oral contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction, network image transfer, and archiving of image data.
Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
Under guidance and approval of Radiologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.
Understands the contraindications associated with the administration of iodinated IV Contrast, can recognize possible reactions, and knows the procedure to follow in the case of a reaction.
Effectively communicates with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and radiologists.
Understands CT Principles.
Follows guidelines of ALARA without compromising quality of scans.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
