As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. These duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting the building to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the plant management team.
Job Responsibilities
Install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, air lines in the facility.
We must possess an understanding of electricity, electrical systems, electrical motor control systems, and process control instrumentation
Support repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Support a diverse range of manufacturing processes to ensure equipment uptime, meet production goals, and maintain high product quality.
We maintain our maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion
Operate material handling equipment safely
Data entry to document work order completion and record materials used
Provide support to team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program and participate and actively support all plant initiatives
Handle work associated with weekly support tasks and prioritization of tasks for completion
Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe and quality parts that meet regulatory and company requirements
We support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements of nVent
We maintain compliance with all Safety and Quality Principles
Expectations to perform the critical functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Skills & Experience
High School diploma/GED; 1-3 years of experience preferred
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician with solid understanding of general maintenance processes and methods on various production machinery.
Experience performing preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs
Must be detail oriented, able to work well on a team while applying excellent organizational and social skills
Certified/ability to become certified to operate a forklift
Ability to read and follow oral & written instructions in English a must along with the ability to understand, interpret and follow policies and procedures established by nVent
Physical Requirements: Physically able to be on your feet during an entire shift to include walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching. We may need you to lift up to 35 lbs. without assistance.
