Position Summary / Objective The Post‑Harvest Technician is responsible for assisting the managers in the day‑to‑day functions of the packaging, trimming, and harvesting areas, as well as storing finished products. The Post‑Harvest Technician is a detail‑oriented, operational team player with strong communication skills. Technicians participate heavily in quality control over all trimmed and packaged products the facility furnishes for stores and vendors. The Post‑Harvest Technician’s role in maintaining a sanitary and organized inventory of product depends upon the detail and thoughtfulness s/he exhibits in this position; primarily, the ability to effectively compartmentalize strains, batches, and corresponding numeric values to reduce any confusion or mislabeling.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, detail‑oriented and collaborative Post‑Harvest Technician to support the company's post‑harvest activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to our business model and is a collaborative team player but also a self‑starter. Previous cannabis cultivation experience is not required. Role reports to the Cultivation Manager.
Responsibilities
Environmental checks & ongoing observation
Harvesting
Correctly utilizing appropriate checklists, logs, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures
Cleaning & sanitizing
Monitoring environment in cure areas
Protecting finished product from waste or loss
Trimming
Sorting usable product and trim into distinct batches
Packaging product and trim
Facilitating accurate inventory control at all steps
Keep work and break areas free of clutter and debris
Ensure work uniforms are as clean as possible
Communicate effectively with others in post‑harvest and other departments
Update any personal information which may be required for contact, payment, benefits, tax purposes, or similar contained in an employee's personnel file
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Preferred Experience, Education and Skills:
Minimum of one year cannabis growing/trimming/industry experience preferred
Certification(s)/education in agricultural, horticultural, or botanical practices
Previous experience with inventory software, Excel, and Google spreadsheets
Education in agriculture, horticulture, or botany preferred but not necessary
Other Requirements:
Must pass stringent background test requirements of the state you will be working in. Age requirements: MA 21, OH 21 and PA 18.
Possess valid driver's license or state ID card; authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Environment Conditions
Ability to perform essential job functions for extended periods (8‑10 hours per day).
Frequent activities may include sitting, walking, bending, climbing ladders, reaching, and frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and repetitive motions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds over a distance of up to 100 feet.
Work may involve exposure to cannabis odors, airborne particles, fertilizers, and high humidity in cultivation or processing areas.
Job duties may be performed in retail dispensaries, cultivation rooms, or post‑harvest facilities, each with varied lighting and temperature conditions.
Compensation
This position is classified as non‑exempt and is eligible for overtime pay.
Pay range is $17.00 - $19.00 per hour.
