Production Shift Supervisor Work Shift:

Third Shift (United States)

Job Description:

Production Supervisors coordinate day‑to‑day workflow across factory departments to ensure on‑time shipment of a quality product, maintain employee safety, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Drive a positive safety culture by following and applying Gorbel safety standards.

Exhibit Gorbel's core behavioral values: integrity, positive people in a positive environment, extraordinary customer experience, and future‑oriented.

Lead teams to achieve key performance metrics on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Manage employee relations fairly and consistently in line with established policies.

Provide ongoing training and development, including cross‑training.

Effectively communicate with direct reports, peers, and leadership via safety huddles, company communications, daily huddles, quality reviews, and customer feedback.

Ensure proper staffing and scheduling to meet production goals.

Follow manufacturing processes and actively drive continuous improvement.

Lead root‑cause investigations, corrective/preadventive actions for safety, quality, people, and production issues.

Lead 6S, kaizen, and other continuous improvement activities.

Provide regular vital conversations with reinforcing and redirecting feedback.

Conduct safety, quality, and process audits to ensure positive results and drive improvement.

Deliver results independently and self‑motivated.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (required).

2–5 years of manufacturing and leadership experience (preferred).

Associate’s degree or higher (preferred).

Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, ERP software, and other computer software.

Demonstrated application of Lean manufacturing.

Excellent people‑management skills.

Ability to manage project work to completion.

Effective communication across the organization, including internal customers and suppliers.

Ability to travel domestically as needed.

Work Environment ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements:

Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Able to stand (75 %), walk (20 %), stoop, kneel, or crouch (5 %), as required.

Able to climb portable ladders.

Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout the shift.

Able to wear hearing protectors (earplugs) in moderate‑noise environment throughout the shift.
