Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to support the admissions department's activities in the pre-admission, admission, discharge, and follow up processes.
Receives patient referrals to the facility and disseminates the information to the Admissions Director. This may include accessing hospital referral systems to obtain referrals for dissemination.
Tracks and follows up on pre-admission referral activity daily, weekly and as directed.
Assists Admissions Director/Director of Marketing with arrangements and confirmation of all admissions. Coordinates the assignment of attending physicians.
Ensures level of care approval obtained and/or OBRA screen; obtains an accurate PASRR, and other documents as required.
Obtains prior approval/ prior authorizations from payer sources (Managed Care, Insurance) on a per case basis when authorized.
Obtains payment information and educates residents and/or representative.
Requirements
Must possess and maintain an “Eligible” ACHA Background Screening status.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must have knowledge of laws and regulations which govern Long Term Care Facilities.
Must have knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH laws.
Must possess, as a minimum, 1 (one) year experience in Health Care Sales, Marketing or Insurance or have commensurate education.
Must be familiar with Medical Terminology.
Must possess working knowledge of computers and software applications used in job functions (MS word, spreadsheets, etc.)
Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.
Must exhibit demonstrated ability in independent functioning and strong leadership
