Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Set up equipment at the beginning and during the shift.

Document operations by completing all required forms.

Change parameters and supplies of machine as required.

Know terminology and components of designated areas of equipment.

Perform minor preventive maintenance as required.

Bring supplies to the area and ensure correct supplies are used.

Effectively troubleshoot equipment and make corrections if needed.

When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.

Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).

Change packaging materials to avoid downtime and can identify sub‑standard supplies.

Operate machine in a safe manner.

Communicate to Supervisor or Team Leader any machine or process problems in a timely manner.

Perform general housekeeping tasks related to the area for the purpose of providing a clean and safe work environment.

Attend meetings representing the functional area.

Work well in a team‑oriented atmosphere.

Comply with the policies outlined in the Amy’s handbook.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual must meet or exceed overall performance standards as outlined in the Amy’s Performance Appraisal process. Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Must have at least 6 months of Amy’s experience or demonstrated previous machine operator experience.

Skills

Must be well versed in control panel sequences and protocols.

Language skills.

Able to read instructions and follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Able to complete forms.

Able to communicate with Team Leader and Supervisor.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Can calculate percentages.

Reasoning ability.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving variables.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for extended periods, perform manual dexterity activities and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Employee may be required to move material in and out of freezers. May work near equipment that generates heat.
