Material Handler
Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state‑of‑the‑art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24‑hour Emergency Department. Material Handlers replenish supplies, linen, and materials, using inventory management tools to ensure timely product availability and facilitate the distribution of orders needed for patient care. In this role you will support the linen team by delivering clean linen throughout the hospital, aligning with our mission and values.
Responsibilities
Provide support to the hospital supervisor on project work.
Collaborate with management to improve daily activities.
Support areas that care for patients with higher acuity and volume.
Receive products from shipping and receiving, unpack and inspect for damage, verify accuracy, and enter data into the warehouse management system.
Receive, sort, put away, pick and deliver supplies, mail, patient records, and other items as required.
Rotate stock and check for out‑dates.
Handle returns by completing technical documentation and necessary communication.
Support Site Managers with communications to fulfill stocking needs and anticipate future needs.
Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate floors and facilities.
Monitor dock traffic flow, prioritizing deliveries to ensure safe receipt of goods.
Put away freight, supplies, packages and perishable items from dock facilities using handling equipment.
Stock picking locations using the warehouse management system, manually or with equipment, ensuring safe movement of materials.
Perform physical stock count for inventory verification and rotate stock to minimize loss.
Perform cycle counting as required.
Survey, fill, and stock nursing floors and clinical areas to maintain inventory levels.
Deliver items using necessary equipment to hospital locations.
Unload and unpack cases and store in designated areas.
Respond to inquiries about materials in stock, ordering procedures, status, or filled orders.
Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs.
Ensure products meet quality requirements.
Maintain professional and ethical relationships with vendor representatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Meet all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirements.
Valid driver’s license to drive box trucks.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
At least one year of materials management or related experience.
Inventory knowledge.
Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push a fully loaded cart up to 800 pounds and pull a 2500‑pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.
Stand and walk for extensive periods.
Lift and carry items.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follow standard precautions and use required personal protective equipment.
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $15.00 Maximum hourly: $18.44
The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined after considering factors such as work history, experience, skill set and education. The range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
