POSITION DESCRIPTION Assists in preparation of test items, test sites, related equipment, and facilities in support of Precision Fires Rocket Missile Systems (PFRMS) testing. Participates in test operations and prepares operational test documentation and correspondence including Operation Test Plans (OTSs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and National Range Documentation (NRDs). Specific tasking may include instrumentation setup and operation, collection and distribution of data, ammunition assembly, and environmental monitoring. Uses technical knowledge and familiarity of Precision Fires Rocket Missile Systems to perform job requirements.

Applies general knowledge of Precision Fires Rocket Missile Systems operating procedures and testing requirements and references written manuals and procedures to assure proper setup and operation of equipment for test purposes. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level test control technicians. May be assigned other duties within his or her capabilities. Work will include cross-utilization into other jobs as required. May require some overtime, TDY and/or weekend work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Graduation from a two-year technical program at an accredited institution or a total of three years progressive experience in the specific or closely related field. Military training and practical experience with one or more Precision Fires Rocket Missile Systems will be evaluated and may satisfy the formal education requirement. May be required to obtain an ammunition and explosives certification as per IAW ATEC 385-1 Chapter 14, Level II. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver around weapons systems and be able to work in exterior unprotected environments.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with launcher operation and functionality on the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and the High Mobility Rocket System (HIMARS). Familiar with the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) and the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS).
