Physical Therapist
The Physical Therapist (PT) administers and directs therapeutic interventions utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a physician. The PT provides service, conducts comprehensive assessments and directs treatment to individuals and groups, supervises the treatment being delivered by the PTA and directs support personnel, develops home programs, provides instruction to patients/families and participates in family and team conferences as appropriate, and evaluates and selects equipment.
Essential Functions
Performs treatments on patients at the scheduled time.
Instructs and prepares the patient for the treatment.
Applies the appropriate intervention based on plan of care.
Monitors patients during treatments.
Follows policy and procedure for charting/documentation.
Provides information to supervising P.T. on an as needed basis.
Assists in maintaining logs, charge tickets, and reports.
Develops and instructs patients in home programs.
Provides written treatment programs for days off and Saturdays.
Performs DC planning under the supervision of the P.T.
Monitors stock levels and orders supplies as needed.
Assists with the maintenance of equipment.
Supervises and directs rehabilitation technicians.
Cleans equipment and returns it to storage if appropriate.
Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Experience
One year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist preferred.
Education
Texas Physical Therapy License required.
BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days required.
