Position Summary The Electrician will wire, assemble, and test electrical systems for overhead cranes and hoists, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, schematics, and national electrical standards.

The role guarantees that all cranes meet Lift Solutions’ quality, safety, and performance requirements before shipment or installation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Electrical Assembly & Wiring

Install and wire control panels, motor drives, limit switches, and pendant or radio control systems for new bridge cranes and hoists.

Route, terminate, and label wiring per electrical schematics and lift industry standards (NFPA 70/NFPA 79).

Mount and connect components such as contactors, overloads, PLCs, and VFDs.

Testing & Troubleshooting

Perform functional testing of completed cranes to verify operation of hoist, trolley, and bridge motions, including safety interlocks and emergency stops.

Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in control circuits and power systems.

Use meters, test equipment, and diagnostic tools to ensure voltage, current, and continuity specifications are met.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and bills of material.

Record test results and update wiring changes or corrections on drawings as needed.

Continuous Improvement

Provide feedback to engineering on design or manufacturability improvements.

Collaborate with mechanical assemblers and project managers to ensure timely, high‑quality builds.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certificate in industrial or electrical technology preferred.

Experience

3+ years of industrial electrical experience; crane or hoist manufacturing background strongly preferred.

Familiarity with control systems, 480 V 3‑phase power, and motor control circuits.

Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent preferred; OSHA 10/30 certification a plus.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability.

Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and radio controls is beneficial.

Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Working Conditions

Primarily shop‑based with occasional field testing or installation support.

Frequent standing, bending, and lifting components up to 50 lbs.

Exposure to manufacturing environment (noise, overhead cranes, moving equipment).
