Job Schedule 2nd Shift 4/10 Employees work 10 hours per day, 4 days a week. The position typically works Monday–Thursday but candidates must be able to work other shifts and overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
Job Description At Aerojet Rocketdyne Redmond, we develop and manufacture rocket engines used on satellites and spacecraft. We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician with experience in Electron Beam Welding. The candidate will be trained and become certified to perform production EB welding within the first 90 days.
Essential Functions
Weld to aerospace industry standards
Adhere to or help develop qualified weld schedules for aerospace hardware
Use micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, calipers, and other calibrated metrology equipment
Section, chemically etch, and evaluate weld samples
Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining Electron Beam Welding equipment
Read and interpret engineering and tooling drawings, manufacturing sketches, and work instructions
Communicate with engineering and technicians regarding technical requirements and processes
Offer suggestions and recommendations to engineers regarding welding equipment, materials, techniques, and procedures
Perform other technical or assembly duties as needed to support production
Move heavy objects as required
Obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (U.S. citizenship required)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant welding experience, OR a post‑secondary Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of welding experience
Preferred Additional Skills
Experience in Electron Beam Welding
Understanding of electrical test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.)
Knowledge of IPC 620 certification preferred
Experience with conventional lathes, mills, and numerical control machines
Proficiency in setting up and performing welds per industry specifications
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with 5S and lean procedures
Ability and willingness to work other shifts and overtime as necessary
Experience with Oracle and Delmia
Knowledge of laminar flow environments and FOE/FOD controls
Knowledge of mechanical assembly and testing of electromechanical components
Salary and Benefits Salary range: $25.48/hr – $47.60/hr (not a guarantee; final offer may vary based on experience and location).
