Polyurethane Foam Surfactant Additives R&D/TS&D Technician Location:

About This Role This role provides technical support to Lead Scientists and Technologist Leaders in the preparation and execution of experimental activities and studies related to polyurethane foam surfactant additives. The technician will assist in product development, application development, technical service, and research, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and maintaining laboratory equipment and data integrity.

Responsibilities

Work as part of a laboratory team to support chemists and engineers in developing, screening, and commercializing new products and processes.

Manage laboratory work requests, operate apparatus and testing equipment, and document data.

Prepare and perform standard and some non‑routine procedures, handling sample or material preparation, equipment setup, and disposal of waste materials.

Accurately record readings and observations using relevant equipment.

Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and machinery, troubleshooting faults and initiating repairs as needed.

Maintain inventories of consumable materials, chemicals, and supplies, anticipating usage rates and managing ordering procedures.

Communicate issues promptly to Technology Leaders or lead scientists to enable problem resolution.

Participate actively in work‑group meetings to address safety, process improvement, and problem solving.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a science‑related discipline or Military Degree Equivalency (MDE) or high school diploma/GED with 3 years of relevant experience.

Legal ability to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship or support is available.

Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

Analytical thinking to evaluate complex problems and select appropriate solutions.
