About IPSD Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests, and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary Caterpillar in Seguin, Texas is seeking a dynamic Production Technician to join our C9 Applications assembly team! As a Production Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, working hands‑on to assemble, test, and troubleshoot our cutting‑edge equipment. What you will do

Align and secure engine components according to work instructions

Install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components

Ensure parts and materials used in assembly are defect‑free

Assist in problem‑solving and improvement initiatives across departments

Verify alignment of engine components using schematics and part prints

Inspect parts and materials for quality defects

Conduct audits and quality inspections to address known defects

Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspections on engines

Submit and support resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards

Adhere to standard operating procedures and area‑specific instructions

Provide process information to supervisors and managers

Occasionally participate in training and development

Perform any other assigned duties

What you will have

Minimum of 2 months’ experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certification

Ability to work well with others

Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English

General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint

Ability to adhere to safety procedures

What would make you a top candidate

Previous experience reading and interpreting part prints and/or schematics

Previous experience assembling engines, engine components, and/or generators

Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive operations

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

2nd Shift will receive a 10% shift premium

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 4:42pm-3:12am. Overtime as required.
