Job Description Assistant Manager opportunities are available for those ready to lead. The role requires judgment, math, and multitasking, along with strong customer and team management skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for everything that happens during your shift, including all cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations.
Set the example and enforce policy and procedures 100% of the time, and expect the same from the crew.
Staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management, work to a schedule, perfect image and adherence to standards, great customer service, attendance & punctuality, transportation to/from work, store cleanliness, marketing, profitability.
Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler.
Prepare product.
Receive and process telephone orders.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Communication Skills
Comprehend and give correct written instructions.
Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Interact respectfully and effectively with people across cultures, abilities, genders, ethnicities, and races.
Essential Functions / Skills
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
Make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigate to locate addresses within designated delivery area.
Navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Work Conditions
Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside.
Fumes from food odors.
Exposure to cornmeal dust.Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler.
Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Adverse weather conditions when delivering product, driving and couponing.
Sensing
Talking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
Depth perception.
Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.

Standing – most tasks are performed from a standing position.
Walking – short distances for short durations; walking or standing most of shift besides breaks.
Sitting – paperwork usually completed in an office at a desk or table.
Lifting – bulk product deliveries are unloaded by hand truck; cases lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72″ high.
Carrying – large cans weighing 3 lb 7 oz carried from workstation to storage shelves; occasionally pizza sauce weighing 30 lb carried from storage to front of store; trays of pizza dough carried three at a time, approx 12 lb per tray.
Pushing – move trays on dollies; a stack of trays on a dolly requiring up to 7.5 lb force.
Climbing – infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
Stooping/Bending – forward bending at waist at pizza assembly station; repeated continuously during day (~30–45 seconds per set).
Crouching/Squatting – performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
Reaching – continuously up, down, forward; above 72″ to turn on/off oven controls, change prices, lift and lower objects to/from shelves; down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes; forward to obtain toppings, clean surfaces, answer phones.
Hand Tasks – eye‑hand coordination continuous; frequent use of forearms and wrists; manipulate pizza peel, rolling cutter, cardboard boxes; grasp cans, phone, cutter, peel, boxes.
Compensation and Benefits All inside positions start at minimum wage with raises after training. Assistant positions range from $15.95 to $18.26 per hour. Monthly bonuses may be offered if criteria and responsibilities are met; they are not guaranteed. Medical, dental and vision insurance available to employees who have worked at least one year and average at least 32 hours per week. Benefit qualifications available upon request.
Hours and Schedule Positions are part‑time unless otherwise stated, with the opportunity to move to full‑time based on shop needs and performance. Typical shift is 5 pm–2:30 am, but may vary depending on sales and store location. The store is currently not hiring; nearby locations are seeking prospective employees for full‑time shift lead roles.
Training Orientation and on‑the‑job training provided. Completion of training evaluations required for raises.
