Overview of Responsibilities At Sprouts Farmers Market, a Produce Clerk will live our name on a daily basis! All produce is farm fresh and must be handled, prepared and merchandised properly to deliver the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. A Produce Clerk sustains a high level of product knowledge and preparation, stocks the Produce department, presents products, faces, fills and organizes all items as set by department schematics while ensuring pricing accuracy. They also ensure proper stocking and rotation of merchandise, including trimming, watering and merchandising products to keep offerings fresh and high quality. The Clerk manages inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability, and assists customers in a friendly and helpful manner. The role is ideal for those who thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from the following tasks:
Using a knife (other than safety cutters)
Using a ladder
Operating garbage or cardboard compactor
Operating any motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks)
Working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods of time
Qualifications
Be at least 16 years of age
Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule that may include night, weekends, and holidays
Show mutual respect for others and uphold Sprouts culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Have a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
Maintain good communication skills and follow direction in a team environment
Can perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. (4″–72″, 3 ft distance), with a utility cart holding 20 lbs. and 2 ft distance for up to 2 hours
Walk up to 5 miles in an 8‑hour shift
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights & Measures regulations
Perform other related duties as assigned
