Summary Valley County is seeking a skilled and dedicated

Facilities Technician

to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and operational duties to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of all county-owned buildings and property.

This is a full-time position with full employee benefits.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities The Facilities Technician will primarily focus on hands‑on maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to:

Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and performing preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and structural elements.

Repairs: Diagnosing and resolving issues across various trades, such as carpentry, painting, minor electrical work (e.g., changing fixtures, ballasts), plumbing (e.g., clearing clogs, fixing leaks), and general handyman tasks.

Grounds Upkeep: Assisting with exterior maintenance, including minor landscaping, snow removal, and general property cleanup.

Project Support: Assisting with remodeling, renovation, and construction projects as needed.

Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

Inventory: Maintaining an organized inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

Typical Qualifications The successful candidate should possess proven experience (e.g., 2+ years) in facilities maintenance, general construction, or a related skilled trade, with demonstrated proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting.

This role requires the physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work effectively in various weather conditions. Furthermore, applicants must maintain a valid Idaho Driver's License, and exhibit strong communication skills along with the capability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
