Job Description Responsibilities include acting as a lead in supporting daily operations of behavioral health and primary care medical assistants and providing float coverage to all VdS medical service sites across Maricopa County for medical assistant positions. Duties include ensuring proper billing procedures, assisting in streamlining operations of MAs, providing technical support to MAs and preparing coverage schedules in conjunction with Site Supervisors. Additional responsibilities may include opening and closing clinic to provide services to clients and ensuring a timely client flow through the clinical process. The Medical Assistant Lead is responsible for working with Site Supervisors and VdS Quality Management Department in maintaining inventory, ordering supplies and stocking clinic. Under the medical oversight of a licensed provider, the Medical Assistant Lead will coordinate and manage patient care to include preparing patients for visits, treatments, referrals, documentation, and performing routine specialized procedures while adhering to Federal, State, and other regulatory and policy and procedure.
Job Qualifications
Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited school.
The ability to work early morning and/or late evening hours as needed.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience in Medical office billing.
Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.
Strong verbal, written, and communications skills
Knowledge of Windows environment and/or Electronic Health Records Systems.
Ability to provide culturally sensitive services
Must have or able to obtain valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
Must maintain current BLS certification
