STAFF PHYSICAL THERAPIST Reports to: Owner/Administrator

• Out-patient Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy Oriented Private Practice

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor of Science degree or higher

Current, unencumbered physical therapy license for the State of Louisiana

Member in good standing with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Good computer skills

Proficient in the English language

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to work with and supervise other Central Physical Therapy team members

Ability to multitask

Core Responsibilities

Support and implement the mission, vision, and core values of Central Physical Therapy

Relate well with adult, children, and geriatric patients

Practice according to the Code of Ethics of the APTA

Maintain the standards of practice for physical therapy as outlined in the relevant HOD documents (HOD S06-03-09-10, HOD 06-03-09-10, HOD 06-99-18-22, HOD 06-96-16-31, HOD 06-91-21-25, HOD 06-85-30-56, HOD 06-80-04-04, HOD 06-80-03-03)

Comply with all legal requirements of jurisdictional regulations governing physical therapy practice

Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in performing job duties

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

Patient Management

Patient Collaboration: Establish and maintain an ongoing collaborative decision‑making process with patients throughout the provision of services

Initial Examination/Evaluation/Diagnosis/Prognosis: Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish a physical therapy diagnosis and prognosis prior to intervention; document patient information within PT scope of practice

Plan of Care: Establish a Plan of Care and manage patient needs based on examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, goals, and outcomes; involve patients and appropriate persons in planning, implementation, and assessment; consult with disciplines for discharge planning and provide follow‑up or referral as needed

Intervention: Provide or direct and supervise physical therapy intervention consistent with the findings of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and Plan of Care

Re‑Examination: Re‑examine patient as necessary during an episode of care, evaluate progress or change in status, and modify or discontinue the Plan of Care as appropriate

Discharge/Discontinuation of Intervention: Discharge patient when anticipated goals are achieved; notify billing manager for final billing; discontinue intervention when patient cannot progress or will no longer benefit and notify billing manager

Communication, Coordination, Documentation: Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient management, including results of examinations, diagnoses, plans, interventions, responses, re‑examinations, and discharge/discontinuation activities

Additional Responsibilities and Duties

Educate patient on treatment plans, home exercise programs, home safety programs, and use of therapy equipment

Perform daily review of unused and canceled therapy appointments; contact patient after the second canceled or no‑show appointment

Ensure all call backs are performed to patient by PTA

Maintain safety and infection control standards

Prepare and present staff in‑services as directed by the Owner and/or Administrator

Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, and CRC information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Assume responsibility for continued professional growth

Participate in the development and implementation of programs and services

Perform other related duties as designated by Owner and/or Administrator

Salary/Compensation $75,000 - $80,000 per year plus commission
