This position maintains and improves the school district’s grounds. Key duties include mowing, trimming, leaf removal, snow removal, and the operation of equipment such as power mowers, hedge trimmers, sprayers, and snow removal tools. The keeper plants, fertilizes, weeds, and performs light maintenance on lawn equipment, while adhering to all safety policies.
Base pay range $21.00/hr - $21.00/hr
Job Responsibilities
Maintain and improve facility grounds based on sustainability guidelines
Apply planned designs to address landscaping needs
Perform tasks such as planting, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, sweeping, raking, salting, shoveling snow, and removing ice
Operate various equipment including power mowers, saws, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and sprayers
Operate trucks, tractors, and attachments as required for grounds maintenance
Clean and upkeep sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other exterior surfaces
Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment and tools
Adhere to all safety policies and report any malfunctions or defects to the supervisor immediately
Qualifications
Previous experience in groundskeeping or horticulture preferred
Non‑commercial driver’s license required
Working knowledge of groundskeeping principles and power landscape equipment
Must be able to adhere to safety procedures
Work involves exposure to unusual elements and extreme temperatures
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) may also be required.
